Biodiesel can be used as fuel in the vehicle nowadays.

There are the various changes that are required for the engine to give best performance.

The setup should also consists of manometer, fuel unit, transmitter for air. There should be a engine that is consist of the one cylinder and four stroke diesel engine.Also They should be connected to the dynamometer for getting information about loading. There should be water cooling jacket.

The diesel can be used as the fuel. There are two types of emission measuring equipment - smoke metre and exhaust gas analyser. Both can be used for calculating and analysing the information of exhaust gases of the engine.

Engine performance evaluation -

The single cylinder diesel engine can be used for the experimental purpose and the fuel can be supplied to the engine from an outside tank. The collection of data of the power break and fuel flow can be calculated in gap of 3 to 5 minutes.

The test should be done for finding the engine speed, break power, torque and fuel flow by the help of various Apparatus. During the test the load was varied from 0 to 12 kg by adjusting the load knob provided on the control panel of the test rig.

The performance of the engine is calculated by considering the load as well as the consumption of the fuel simultaneously. The performance of the engine is determined by the explanation of the torque and loads.

For finding the Torque,

Torque= load * arm length

Load should be in Newton and arm length should be in the cm. First the details of the loading and volume of diesel should be careful calculated by the engine.
