Day 2:

For this second leg of our journey, we started early from Jabalpur by car and reached Khajuraho by 4 pm, with a short halt at Panna National Park.
Khajuraho, a small yet fascinating historical town, lying in Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh, is famous for its temples depicting erotic sculptures constructed during Chandela Dynasty. So, we planned to start yet another beautiful journey by first delving into its history so that we can fully appreciate the significance and history of the city. With this intention, we bought tickets for famous Sound & Light Show of Khajuraho.
The show was scheduled for 7:30 pm in the evening, leaving us enough time explore the city on foot. Khajuraho is a small town full of temples and almost all the hotels are located in the vicinity of these temples. You don't need to book any vehicle to visit them, just be energetic and trust your feet to experience the historical structure at this place. If you are a paratha lover like us, smile, because this place has awesome Dhabas with mouth-watering tandoor parathas served with pickle & curd.

Khajuraho Sound & Light Show:
The show is worth every penny, and we were delighted to begin our journey with it. Not only it gives enticing details about the historical importance of this place, but also is a treat for the eyes, with beautiful portrayals capturing all your attention, as you learn about the history, facts and myths of Khajuraho temples.
Since it is conducted in Western Group of temples, you will get an opportunity to witness them in a beautiful light which indeed is a delight to watch. Watching this show makes your journey to the temple even more intriguing and your overall experience is enhanced. The show lasted for 45 mins.
After this, we left directly for a nearby restaurant to have our candle-light dinner as promised by husband 😛 and then returned to hotel to grab a goodnight sleep.

Day 3:

Western Group Of temples:
Filled with excitement, we woke up, got ready to have luscious parathas for breakfast at one of the Dhaba we had found the previous evening. Then we started our journey to explore magnanimous and utterly fascinating group of giant structures standing all around us. What we saw in the artificial light last evening was now standing tall in beautiful sunlight giving a completely different experience.

These structures have rich display of intricately carved designs and statues, and it's hard to believe how the artisans in 12th century constructed them without any actual machineries. Every temple is unique in its own way, a display of beautiful artwork of Chandela Dynasty and indeed a great example of richness of our culture.

Our feet were hurting after exploring the entire range of temples on foot, but the experience we had was totally worth the exertion. Tired from the exploration, we made a pit stop for lunch and then headed to hotel to rejuvenate our energy.

In the evening, we further explored the local areas, spent time talking to local people and understanding their lifestyle and were filled with supreme satisfaction to complete this beautiful trip of two wonderful cities of Madhya Pradesh. After this, we returned to our hotel with a smile and a promise to find time again from our busy schedule to witness other beautiful creations of God and Men.
